casablanca

After leaving Niger on January 7 at 2:30 am, we had a 28 hour layover in Casablanca, Morocco. We took advantage of the hotel they put us up in & got a few extra hours of sleep & then went to downtown Casablanca. There is a beautiful market with tons of gorgeous souvenirs. After living in Niger & having slim pickins for souvenirs, we were overcome with that "tourist" mentality & wanted to buy everything! Fortunately, we only had a few extra inches to in our suitcases, so we had to constrain ourselves from buying it all. I wish we had snapped more pictures of it all but we did manage to get a few with Isabelle. For being sleep deprived & then shoved into a taxi for an hour and being strolled around a foreign country in the rain, she did great! She flirted with all the vendors &, I think, helped to snag a few deals!
