catching up

We have a LOT of catching up to do!! We have been in the States for almost a month now & still have posts from Niger that we didn't have time to post before we left. So we'll do a few of those & then catch you up on what Isabelle has been doing since we've been in America.

This post is about the Christmas/going away party we had in Ayorou before we left on December 20. That seems like ages ago! Mark had already posted a little about it on our blog if you want to read more about it or see more pictures.

From Izzy's perspective, it was a day to meet new friends & say goodbye to them all in the same day (aka - the sheep), play in things she wasn't supposed to play with, hang out with all her best buddies, dress up in a new outfit & eat her favorite food - rice & sauce!

As the ladies & I began preparations for the meal, the fellas were busy "taking care" of the sheep. This left Isabelle & her comrades unattended & getting into everything!

Isabelle enlisted the help of Hawa to join her in her mischievous activities

What to do with 3 kids up in everybody's grill? Put them in the car ... with the windows rolled down, of course!

The princess has to take a break from the festivities to make a phone call.

Chillin' out with her buddies

Nadia & her best bud, Nafissa

Yummy rice & sauce. Isabelle is one happy girl!

The ladies & their girls. We miss them so much!

One last family picture in Ayorou
