There is a magical little place in Aberdeen, SD called Storybook Land. It's a free park with tons & tons of sculptures from famous nursery rhymes & children's fables. They also have a train, carousel & balloon ride that are only $1.50! They have a couple of playgrounds to play on, a castle, a maze, a petting zoo & a ton of other kid friendly stuff. I'd say we went there no less than 10 times while we were in SD.
We always had so much fun there & Isabelle loved it every time we went. She never got bored with it! She especially loved the "choo choo" & would get beyond excited when we would tell her we were going to ride it. I wish we had captured it on video because there are no words to describe the sounds she'd make when she would realize she was going to ride on the train!
Three little kittens lost their mittens & Isabelle was very concerned for them!
Isabelle loved Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater's house. She'd always say, "My house! My house!"
Isabelle's Knight in Shining Armor
GB escaping from the Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe!
Isabelle getting a little fresh with one of the Three Little Pigs. I think she liked this one the best because his house didn't blow down!
She loved the playground!
But this was by far her favorite! It never got old!
Posing with the cast of the Wizard of Oz. This place even had "Dorothy's House" & a simulated "tornado" in it. It was pretty awesome & Isabelle wasn't scared at all!
One of the Munchkins from Munchkin Land. She had her eye on him, too!
Cousin JJ even got a little Storybook Land action!
Oh, here's her house again!
Feeding the sheep. You'd think Isabelle would be used to this from her experience in Ayorou but she was pretty hesitant about it. Maybe the fences confused her!
Good times, great times!! I don't think we can ever think of our first Stateside & not think of this place! We loved it so much. Thanks GB & Bebe for taking us there more times than we can count!
